1. Organisation Structure And Supply Chains
Some firms in some parts of the world are legally required to publish a Modern Slavery Statement once yearly, within six months of its financial year-end.
Sole proprietorship Charites, business ID 2446380-0 and VAT number FI24463800, is not one of them. However, in the name of sustainable development, including ethical best practices, a Modern Slavery Statement will be worked on henceforth.
Currently, Charites is a solo entrepreneurship, but for purposes of developing this website and its offerings, various services and digital goods are purchased frequently. At the time of writing, no information has been acquired regarding modern-slavery policies of business partners and their respective supply chains. This must be remedied.
This statement will be updated continuously.
2. Policies In Relation To Slavery And Human Trafficking
Charites condemns any form of slavery and human trafficking. Every human being must have their human rights secured, including freedom of movement.
If business partners do not have their own Modern Slavery Statement available, a first step will be to encourage them to publish one, alternatively state in writing their views.
If our views do not match, collaboration will cease immediately. An announcement thereof will be announced on the website blog in addition to updating this statement.
The same policies will apply if/when there comes a time to hire members to the team.
Charites aims for complete transparency and accountability.
3. Due Diligence Processes
Processes of due diligence concerning this Modern Slavery Statement are part of Charites’ processes of human rights due diligence.
4. Risk Assessment And Management
Risk management happens once quarterly as part of business management. There will be made space for assessing risks and updating the internal data on business partners’ policies on modern slavery.
5. Key Performance Indicators To Measure Effectiveness Of Steps Being Taken
Key Performance Indicators, KPI, must be developed. A first step will be to investigate industry standards.
6. Training On Modern Slavery And Trafficking
Charites is a firm, which aims to remain in business for years to come. Adhering to principles of sustainable development means continuously improving processes, life-long learning and skill building.
My current understanding of modern slavery is extremely limited, but work will begin to increase know-how. I do not take questionable ethics lightly, but will do my share of increasing transparency to the best of my abilities.
